NikeLab Chicago Recreation Center

NikeLab Chicago Recreation Center was a collaboration with designer Virgil Abloh, adhering to this manifesto: "A power plant of a different kind engaging in physical and cultural energy in a way that changes the community for the better, within the power of sport.” The Recreation Center was focused around three main ideas: reinventing NikeLab Chicago, providing a platform for creativity and amplifying the voice of local creators, and driving connection through product. The NikeLab pop up was designed with sustainability in mind and used Nike grind and TPU as some of its base materials in the space. This aspect of sustainability was tied in with the conveyor belt in the space that would collect donated shoes and showcase them around the space, counting them as part of a give back that Nike conducted for All Star 2020 in Chicago.
